Profile
Appearance
Grey is a humanoid ghost with solid gray eyes. She has pale skin and fluffy gray hair that goes past her knees. She has bags under her eyes and scars around her ankles and wrists. She wears a white, knee-length, sleeveless sundress with a gray belt. She also keeps a white, four-petal flower in her hair.
Personality
Grey is driven by her anxiety. She stutters on the rare occassions she speaks. The unmeasurable time spent with Azzy has left her feeling small and useless. Sage does her best to make Grey feel appreciated, but mostly it's Grey providing emotional support for everyone else. She loves plants.
Abilities
Grey is the most powerful of all of the ghosts in Sage, though still behind Azzy by a significant margin. She maintains the body, focusing on regeneration and summoning. While she could easily control the others, she doesn't have the confidence. Grey and Sage are "co-leaders", though she defers to Sage on just about everything. Grey prefers to use her summoning abilities to add flowers to her hair and houseplants to the mental space.
Grey rarely controls the body, avoiding it as much as possible. She understands how uncomfortable it is for Sage when the others do it. On that rare occassion she has to take control, her body language is even more small and uncertain than usual. She keeps the tail curled close to her body and the ears pointed down.
History
Life
Grey is less fragmented than the other sages, more akin to Sage herself in terms of retained memories. In life, Grey was named Anne. She was a chroma, immortal beings known for having wings and being very colorful. She lived her whole life in a beautiful garden she wasn't allowed to leave. Anne knew Azzy before he died, but it was his visits after his death that lead to her own death.
Anne was killed by Azzy, turning her into a shade like him. From there, Azzy was able to remove her wings and make them his own.
The Void
Azzy kept Anne in The Void with him for a very long time, where she was forced to help him take more ghosts. Anne was there to see both Ethan and Sage's recruitment as keapers. When Azzy was first taking interested in Sage, Anne was starting to rebel, primarily by trying to warn Sage. After Sage's death, she only got more unhelpful, until Azzy got fed up with her and stuck her in with Sage. It was this success with merging Sage and Anne into one body that inspired him to keep adding more.
Sage
While Anne does remember her name, she prefers using a color name to fit in more with the others. The name Anne also is strongly tied to her memories with Azzy, another reason to avoid it. I mostly use the two names to differenciate between her different visual designs.
Grey joined very shortly after Sage became a keaper, with the two essentially being together Sage's whole afterlife. As she was already thoroughly experienced with ghosts and being dead, Grey has been an invaluable assistant. If she isn't actively helping Sage or quietly trying to stop the others, she just sits and watches. Grey never sleeps.
Relationships
Sage
Grey knew Sage briefly when she was alive, though Sage doesn't really remember it. Grey grew very attatched to her, watching her and rooting for her survival, and that attachment has carried into their afterlife together. Since their combined existance, the two have become very close, each supporting the other wherever possible. Sage is really the only one Grey likes to be around.
Grey has a bit of a crush on Sage, but refuses to say anything about it. It's pretty obvious though.
Azzy
Grey's thoughts on Azzy are complex, mostly fear, anger, and betrayal. She's just happy being in Sage means she doesn't have to directly interact with him anymore.
Red
Grey and Red were initially fairly close, when Red has first arrived. Grey explained their situation and helped her adjust. Since then, especially after Yellow's arrival, Red has become too much for Grey to handle. The two just don't really mesh personality-wise. Even though they both still care for each other, they don't "hang out".
Yellow
Yellow has always been a little much for Grey. Grey had explained as much as she could when Yellow first arrived, but she always has more questions. Even with questions Grey does have answers to, she's reluctant to share them, uncertain with how Yellow might use the information. Grey knows very well that sometimes it's better to know less. At least Yellow is easier to reason with than the other two.
Blue
Grey is very concerned by the unstable nature of Blue, due to the nature of their death being so unusual. Grey does her best to help keep Blue together, but her offers of emotional support are often rejected. Her intentions are good, but Blue does not appreciate the coddling. She occassionally agrees to play games with them, even though she's no good at them.
