Profile

Moe's fullbody reference

Appearance

Moe is a "toon", specifically in reference to characters like Mickey Mouse or Felix the Cat. They resemble an anthropromorphic cat, with black fur, a white muzzle, pie-cut eyes, a small red nose, and a long tail with a white tip. They even have red paw pads normally hidden by their gloves and shoes. Their triangle ears stick straight up and rarely move. Moe's hair is sticks out to the side and curls up, and it follows similar rules to Mickey's ears, always "facing the camera" to maintain their silhouette. Their height fluctuates as their body stretches and squashes, but they're around 5ft (not counting the ears).

Moe's typical outfit consists of a pair of short teal overalls, a white t-shirt with red stripes on the sleeves, a red bandana tied around their neck, red shoes with white socks, and white gloves. The overalls have two pockets in the front and one on the chest, plus a hole in the back for their tail to stick out of.

Moe's voice is high-pitched and gender-vague, like an adult woman doing a small boy voice. They have a slight New Yorker accent.

Personality

Generally, Moe keeps up a cheery and friendly attitude and tries to be as likeable as possible. Moe is an intelligent child with a wide range of interests thanks to their love of reading, both fiction and nonfiction. They're particularly into puzzle solving, and they're very good at rubix cubes. Moe is also notably chatty, as silence makes them uncomfortable. They always have plenty to talk about and will endlessly chatter away if left to their own devices. Moe's bad luck has left them skittish, sometimes even paranoid. Whether it's the luck or Moe's actually just that clumsy, they're not sure. Thinking about their odd state of existance can cause Moe to panic or disassociate, but they do their best to ignore it.

Abilities

As a toon, Moe follows cartoon logic, such as jumping impossible heights when scared or suffering no permanent injury from blunt force trauma. Moe also has access to a hammerspace dimension within their overalls pockets, consistently filled with random items of various sizes. The origin of the items is unknown. New items can be placed inside, but Moe avoids doing this as it's unlikely they'll be able to retrieve them. Generally, these abilities follow the rule of "only when it's funny", meaning Moe's success or failure to perform an ability depends on what the funniest outcome for the situation is. On top of the "funny rule", Moe also has consistant bad luck. This is likely an extension of their cartoon logic, as black cats are a common omen of bad luck. This luck leads to them often falling, getting hit, or otherwise being the victim of slapstick. Not necessarily an ability, but Moe's toon body also doesn't seem to age. Whether this means Moe is immortal or not is uncertain.

Moe's speech is also partially out of their control. Moe has expressed an involuntary need to make puns whenever the opportunity presents itself. If Moe tries to swear, the bad word will be replaced with word of similar sound, like "shit" becoming "ship". These changes often cause Moe discomfort, emotionally and sometimes physically.

History

Moe had an "average childhood" as a human child with a single mom, up until the age of eight, when they were given to a labratory for experimentation. It was in that lab that Moe was turned into a toon, around age 10. Shortly after their transformation, they escaped. Moe has been getting picked up by and escaping labs ever since, never staying at one for more than a month or two. Moe lost track of how much time it's been, and has no idea how old they are due to their body not aging.

Relationships

Rat

Moe doesn't entirely know why Rat's so creepy yet, but that doesn't stop them from being unnerved. Other than a few odd comments, Rat seems nice enough to them. Sure, he's not exactly helpful through this whole testing thing, but Rat does look pretty tired.

Ollie

Ollie is somehow even creepier than Rat, and she always seems to have bugs around her. She's definitely lacking in manners, but Moe's met their fair share of unsocialized test subjects throughout the years. At least Ollie doesn't actively yell at them.
